THE PREDICTION

World number 16 Grigor Dimitrov is teaming up with Kei Nishikori in the Men’s Doubles this week in Miami which should be an exciting, high-profile duo. The thought process behind that move seems for both players to be a need to get their games going this season as Nishikori continues to return from a long injury lay-off and Dimitrov simply struggles to string good matches together. The Bulgarian was stunned in Acapulco last week, losing in straight-sets to teenage sensation Lorenzo Musetti, in yet another example of his unpredictability on court. To that end, world number 56 Cameron Norrie has every opportunity at winning this first meeting between the two players and the Brit was in pretty good shape against Yoshihito Nishioka on Wednesday to reach this second round. Matches involving Dimitrov are more guesswork than anything right now and realistically he should be winning this in straight sets. Perhaps the doubles match with Nishikori will inspire something in him in time for the second round but this match looks like needing a decider so take a total of three sets here and leave a winner up to chance.
