THE PREDICTION
World number 126 Damir Dzumhur actually made it through to the first round of the Miami Open as a lucky loser having lost to Alejandro Tabilo in qualifying but the Bosnian used his chance masterfully by beating Kevin Anderson in straight sets. This sets up a really intriguing match now between Dzumhur and second seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, with 28-year-old Dzumhur leading their head-to-head record 3-1. 22-year-old Tsitsipas really broke through on tour in 2019, by which time the Dzumhur led their record 2-1 but a loss at the Rotterdam Open just two years ago makes for a real question mark about this banana skin early-on in his Miami Open campaign. The Greek lost in the Mexican Open final last week in Acapulco and that could have an affect on him too, all reasons to suggest the faintest whiff of an upset here. However, Tsitsipas is a big stage, big game player and he will be well aware of his record with Dzumhur. The world number five will do all in his power to steamroller this match as a statement of intent, especially as the top seed on his side of the draw. The upset bells are ringing here but realistically this should be a straight-sets victory for Tsitsipas.
