THE PREDICTION
It is difficult to predict how world number 20 Cristian Garin will take to the Miami Open despite winning his fifth ATP title earlier this month in his native Chile. The 24-year-old has been managing an injury that took him out of the Australian open last month and so he has very little hard-court match practice with which to face hard-court specialist Marin Cilic here in what should be a really entertaining encounter. 32-year-old Cilic was impressive at times in his three-set victory over Federico Coria and it is hard to side with a favourite at this stage. Cilic was the winner in their only previous match at Queens Club in 2019 but Garin has come on leaps and bounds since then without quite pulling up any trees. Both players are fairly unpredictable right now, so take this match to require a deciding set and leave the winner up to chance.
