This should be a pretty ruthless, breathless match between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Bublik just over a fortnight since their first career meeting produced exactly that. 23-year-old Bublik took the first set against 19-year-old Sinner at the Dubai Open two weeks ago before the Italian fought back in a big way and, when Bublik is switched on, the two have fairly similar, explosive games. Where Bublik is a raw, talented maverick, Jannik Sinner is all talent matched-up with a mentality well beyond his years and the world number 31 was assured against another youngster in Emil Ruusuvuori on Monday to come through in straight sets. Sinner looks to be growing into this tournament with every round and the potential for a semi-final with Daniil Medvedev next up will be a huge prize for the rising star. We have a good benchmark for this match-up already played this month and plenty points towards Sinner taking this in three sets again. However, the Italian knows when and how to turn the screw more than many players on tour and it would not be a surprise, and it seems the likelier of two outcomes, that he takes this in straight sets.
