THE PREDICTION

25-year-old Cam Norrie claimed a big scalp on Wednesday when he beat Fabio Fognini in straight sets to reach the quarter-finals here in Acapulco for a second time. The Brit previously made it through to the semi-finals before losing to Alexander Zverev in 2019 and he holds a 5-3 record at this event now after beating the sixth seed. This unlikely quarter-final match-up will see Dominik Koepfer, not the fourth seed Milos Raonic, face Norrie here after the world number 71 beat Raonic in equally impressive straight sets. The German has been struggling on the South American clay swing but is a much better player on hard courts and this looks set to be a lengthy first tour meeting between the two. World number 61 Norrie has been in some really good form so far this season, with a 9-5 record overall, and if he can play to the standard that he put in at Delray Beach earlier this year he can reach his second semi-final in 2021 via three sets here.
