Munich open fifth seed Nikoloz Basilashvili looks in fine form this week and reached the quarter-finals without dropping a set via wins over two South Americans in Thiago Monteiro and Daniel Elahi Galan. The 29-year-old has a title to his name already this season with an ATP 250 win in Qatar on a hard court but two of the Georgian’s other three titles have come on clay, in Germany, at the Hamburg Open. The world number 35 will be favourite to beat Norbert Gombos here in what will be their first meeting but the Slovakian never goes down without a fight. The 30-year-old played well to take out Federico Coria in comfortable straight sets but Basilashvili in this mood is difficult to stop for players outside the top 50. Take the Georgian to win outright here, with Gombos more than capable of forcing a decider.
