World number 203 Coco Vandeweghe is rediscovering some form on grass out of the blue here and a straight-sets win over Marie Bouzkova in her first of two matches today is a welcome result indeed to keep her fresh enough for the semi-final. Her sudden momentum will be really tough for world number 35 Daria Kasatkina to have to break down, especially as she played an extra set this afternoon in the quarters. Given that this week has seen plenty of surprises at the Birmingham Classic it might be best to hold off a total result and take a better-rested Wandeweghe to win at least a set here. The former world number nine should be able to utilise all her experience in this first meeting with Kasatkina.
