World number nine Diego Schwartzman made short work of Corentin Moutet in the round of 16 to back-up an excellent come-from-behind win over Frances Tiafoe in the second round. The 28-year-old will face Pablo Carreno Busta for a third time in their careers with their head-to-head record finely poised on one win apiece, both in 2017, and so this match looks an intriguing one. World number 13 Carreno Busta has led a charmed life in the draw so far in Barcelona but will find himself properly tested by the unorthodox Argentine as one of two remaining well-supported Spaniards. They have never played on clay, which should favour Schwartzman slightly, and both have won an ATP 250 title on this surface this year already. On their given days, Schwartzman would probably edge this on clay and PCB on hard but it is difficult to tell where the Argentine is at currently.
