First seed and world number 15 Pablo Carreno Busta looks in pole position for a fifth ATP title in his career if he can best one of the more unlikely Andalucia Open finalists in 23-year-old Jaume Munar. 29-year-old Carreno Busta started strongly against Albert Ramos-Vinolas before his fellow Spaniard fought back to force a decider in customary, dogged style but PCB was able to exert his quality when it counted in a deciding tiebreak. Munar also required a tiebreak to beat 17-year-old Carlos Alcaraz but ultimately came through in straight sets against the teenage star and highly deserves his place in this final after an excellent week in Marbella. World number 95 Munar is an unpredictable player on his day but a first meeting with Pablo Carreno Busta in his first ATP final is a tough ask. Still, Munar’s performances this week suggest this could well fall in three for Carreno Busta rather than two.
