THE PREDICTION
World number 193 Robin Haase has 1-2 record for the season so far after beating Kimmer Coppejans at the Great Ocean Road Open last month before losing to Pablo Cuevas there and then Filip Krajinovic in the first round of the Australian Open. The Dutch veteran almost came up against Andy Murray in the 2019 David Cup before the Brit was forced to pull-out of the competition but Murray leads their head-to-head record 4-1 having lost to Haase way back in 2008 and won the next four meetings. Haase and Murray are reaching the twilight of their careers now and whilst it remains to be seen what former world number one Murray can achieve this season he should be in better shape with each passing match. Murray came close to taking the first set via a tiebreak with Egor Gerasimov last week in Montpellier and the combination of a less tough opponent and more match practice should result in a much better performance this week. The pair have not played in over five years now and they have shared some lengthy matches together but Murray should be winning this match in straight sets in response to his disappointment last week.
