Tatjana Maria vs Marie Bouzkova prediction

Tatjana Maria suffered an early defeat in Seoul last week as she lost to Suzan Lamens in the first-round. Maria was uncompetitive in the encounter, losing 6-4 6-1. That would have been a disappointment for the German after a far stronger showing in Guadalajara a week earlier, where she reached the quarter-finals. It’s been an up and down year at times for Maria, who has suffered a series of first-round losses but also experienced great highs, culminating in her title at Queen’s Club during the grass court season.

Despite strong form heading into the major, Marie Bouzkova crashed out in the first-round of the US Open to Elsa Jacquemot. She had reached the semi-finals of the Monterrey Open just a few days earlier, while Bouzkova also won her home event in Prague during July. She has won 15 of her 23 matches on outdoor hard court this season.

Bouzkova has a far better record on the surface this season and will be desperate to get back to winning ways, having not competed on the tour for nearly a month. She’s good value to get through.
