Out of nowhere, Qatar find themselves under huge pressure in Group A ahead of this game against Syria after being stunned late on by Palestine.

Syria vs Qatar prediction

Qatar would’ve been frustrated enough with a draw last time out against Palestine, but to lose the game deep into second half stoppage time now ramps up the stakes with another defeat here all but eliminating them from knockout stage contention. They’ll need to find a way past another resolute backline in Syria, who defeated Tunisia by a single goal in their most recent Group A fixture.

There’s no doubt that Qatar are a better team than what they showed on Monday and with their tournament hopes in the balance, you’d expect them to show that in this game. Syria meanwhile, can afford to come away with a point after the Tunisia win, so are unlikely to take any unnecessary risks here that could see them caught up. With that in mind, the double chance market appears an ideal one to exploit, covering both a draw and a bounce-back Qatar victory.

Syria vs Qatar tip: Double chance - draw/Qatar
