Suzan Lamens vs Katerina Siniakova prediction

Suzan Lamens continued her progress in Seoul as she defeated fifth seed Diana Shnaider in straight sets. She was 4-2 down in the first set but reeled off eight games in a row to go a set and a double break up, eventually sealing a 6-4 6-4 victory after one hour and 24 minutes. This is the first time she has reached a quarter-final on hard court this season.

She now faces Katerina Siniakova for a place in the last four. Siniakova also earned a fine win in the round-of-16 as she beat last year’s finalist Daria Kasatkina. The Czech was broken when serving for the set at 5-3 but still dominated the tiebreak to go in front. She was in control of the second and won 7-6 6-2 overall. She now has four victories in a row, stretching back to qualifying for the event.

Lamens has enjoyed a fine tournament so far and she will need to rely on her aggression to prevent Siniakova from settling into long rally patterns and also limit her variety. This could go either way and may head into three sets.
