Key stats

  • This is the first UEFA competition match between these teams and Crystal Palace’s first against French opposition.
  • Strasbourg’s only previous UEFA encounters with an English side came against Liverpool in the second round of the 1997/98 UEFA Cup. They advanced with a 3-2 aggregate victory, winning 3-0 at home before losing 2-0 away.
  • Strasbourg have lost just one of their last nine UEFA competition matches (W6 D2) and remain unbeaten this season, with three wins and two draws from five games.
  • Remarkably, Strasbourg have lost just one of their 30 UEFA competition home matches — a 1-0 defeat to Milan in the first leg of a UEFA Cup second round tie in October 1995.
  • Crystal Palace have won three of their five UEFA competition matches this season (D1 L1) and remain unbeaten on the road, with one win and one draw.

Strasbourg vs Crystal Palace prediction

Liam Rosenior has been blessed by heavy investment by BlueCo and he has done a very good job in charge of a strong Strasbourg side. They have collected seven points from their opening three matches in the league phase of the UECL.

They now face a Crystal Palace side that, with 2022 UEFA Europa League winning coach Oliver Glasner in charge, will be expected to challenge for this trophy after winning their first ever piece of silverware with the FA Cup last season.

Strasbourg have dipped in the last month or so, while Palace have suffered just three defeats in 18 matches across all competitions so far this season and so siding with the Eagles would appear the way to go for this one.
