St Pauli preview: Impressive overachievers
Having gained promotion to the top-flight under Fabian Hurzeler, St Pauli had to adapt following his departure to Brighton and Hove Albion, and the appointment of Alexander Blessin has proved to be an inspired one with St Pauli have comfortably steered themselves clear of the bottom three last season.
So far this season, they have started with a thrilling 3-3 draw against what does it appear to be a strong Borussia Dortmund side at the Millerntor on the opening day, before defeating arch-rivals Hamburg by two goals to nil away from home at the Volksparkstadion before the September international break.
Augsburg preview: Need to kick on
Augsburg come into this one on the back of starting their 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign with a victory and a defeat, as they seek to try and kick on from finishing in the middle-of-the-table last season.
On the opening day of the campaign, they produced an impressive performance to defeat Freiburg by two goals to one away from home, before then succumbing to a 3-2 loss at home to Bayern Munich in a game in which they had found themselves 3-0 down at one stage.

St Pauli vs Augsburg prediction
It has been a reasonable start to the campaign for both of these sides, and Augsburg in particular have the top-flight pedigree to ensure that they are difficult to beat. However, given their home advantage and just how well they have started the season, siding with St Pauli in Hamburg may well be the way to go for this one, albeit it may not be an overly thrilling encounter for the neutral at Millerntor.
St Pauli vs Augsburg tip: Double chance - St Pauli to win or draw & under 3.5 goals
