The prediction

St Kilda come into this one on the back of a 30-point defeat to a strong Fremantle side last week. All five of the hosts’ victories so far have come against the teams in the bottom five and so any step up seems a steep one for Hawthorn.

Hawthorn edged past the Adelaide Crows with a low-scoring nine-point win in their mos recent outing, ending a three-match winless run of form. The Victorians sit fourth in the table ahead of this match day, just two wins short of league leaders Fremantle.

That fairly obvious split between playing the best and the worst, and the outcome therein, would suggest a Hawthorn victory is to be expected at Marvel Stadium in Docklands.
