The story of the European football season so far has continued in the round of 16 as Bodo/Glimt attempt to push into the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – TNT Sports / USA – CBS Sports

How to watch online: UK – discovery+ / USA – Paramount+

Sporting CP preview: Shaken in the Arctic Circle

In the first-leg of this UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, Bodo/Glimt hammered Sporting CP by three goals to nil at the Aspmyra Stadion in the Arctic Circle, courtesy of goals from Sondre Brunstad Fet, Ole Didrik Blomberg and Kasper Hogh.

The Portuguese giants have been knocked off course in Liga Portugal, too, albeit they were given the weekend off, sitting seven points behind runaway league leaders FC Porto domestically.

Bodo/Glimt preview: Brilliant Bodo

Kjetil Knutsen and his Bodo/Glimt side have been magnificent since the turn of the year, having actually failed to win any of their opening six league phase matches, while also missing out on the 2025 Norwegian Eliteserien title.

In 2026, though, Bodo hammered Manchester City before a victory away at Atletico Madrid. In the knockout playoff round, they hammered Serie A leaders Internazionale over two legs.

Sporting CP team news: Guilherme out

Former West Ham United winger Luis Guilherme, who joined Sporting in the January transfer window, is now sidelined for this second-leg due to an ankle injury.

Nuno Santos will be expected to replace him, allowing Geny Catamo to keep his spot, with Geovany Quenda sidelined alongside former Panathinaikos striker Fotis Ioannidis.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Silva; Vagiannidis, Diomande, Inacio, Fresneda; Simoes, Hjulmand; Catamo, Trincao, Santos; Suarez

Unavailable: Quenda (Injured), Mangas (Injured), Kochorashvili (Injured), Guilherme (Injured), Ioannidis (Injured)

Bodo/Glimt team news: Fully fit

Once again, as Bodo travel to Lisbon, the Norwegians have, surprisingly, a fully fit and available squad and so they don’t need to make too many changes for this one.

Kasper Hogh was linked with Norwich City in the winter window but staying put at Bodo is proving very fruitful with an excellent partnership alongside former AC Milan winger Jens Petter Hauge.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Khaikin; Sjovold, Bjortuft, Gundersen, Bjorkan; Evjen, Berg, Fet; Blomberg, Hogh, Hauge

Unavailable:

Sporting CP vs Bodo/Glimt prediction

Bodo/Glimt have been exceptional of late and they will be expected to find joy on the counter-attack at Estadio Jose Alvalade, too. Sporting, with home advantage and their desperate situation, will have to throw everything at Bodo on Tuesday night but that should open the door for a well coached and currently flying visiting side – and siding with them is the way to go once again.

Sporting CP vs Bodo/Glimt Tip: Double chance – Bodo/Glimt to win or draw
