South Africa vs Panama prediction

South Africa succumbed to Cameroon in the round of 16 of the CAF Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year. Bafana Bafana suffered just one defeat in 12 matches before that, qualifying for a first FIFA World Cup since hosting the event in 2010.

Back at the FIFA World Cup again since qualifying for 2018, the Panamanians have a better squad than the side that achieved that historic feat – albeit they do remain generally quite limited.

With home advantage, the South Africans would have to be viewed as slight favourites but, regardless of the match result, a low-scoring encounter is to be expected at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

South Africa vs Panama tip: Under 2.5 goals
