The Romanian made short work of the Argentine to prevail 6-1 6-4 and maintain her push for a title on home soil.
Cirstea now meets sixth seed Jil Teichmann, who won an all-Swiss affair with Simona Waltert 5-7 6-1 7-5.
This will be their fourth meeting with Teichmann winning all of their previous meetings on hard courts.
This is a maiden showdown on clay and if Cirstea is going to pull off the surprise and break her duck in the head-to-head it’s on the dirt on home soil.
