Sorana Cirstea vs Coco Gauff prediction
Sorana Cirstea began her final Madrid Open by beating Tyra Caterina Grant in straight sets. The 18-year-old broke at the start of the second set and served to take the match into a decider, but Cirstea broke back. The Romanian was also behind in the tiebreak, but she won the last three points to claim a 6-2 7-6 (5) win. Cirstea now goes up against world number three Coco Gauff.
The American breezed through her opening match against Leolia Jeanjean. Gauff did encounter some difficulties on serve during the start of the match, as she was broken twice, but she won the last nine games to win 6-3 6-0. Gauff advanced to the final of this event last year.
Gauff leads the head-to-head 2-0 but Cirstea has managed to push both matches to three sets. Nevertheless, she was not particularly convincing in her previous outing, and Gauff should be able to create numerous opportunities.
