Sigma Olomouc managed to get past Lausanne Sport in the knockout playoff round of the UEFA Europa Conference League last month. That has contributed to the Czechs extending their unbeaten run of form to five matches across all competitions.

They now face a Mainz side that have been much-improved this season since the appointment of former Union Berlin boss Urs Fischer. The visitors have kicked their way away from the danger zone and can now focus on European competition.
