In the Steel City Derby at the weekend, struggling Sheffield United managed to dispatch of crisis club arch-rivals Sheffield Wednesday by three goals to nil at Hillsborough. The Blades remain tucked inside the bottom three and the relegation places ahead of this midweek round of fixtures.
Portsmouth, under the management of John Mousinho, managed to get themselves their own much-needed win at Fratton Park the other day as they defeated Millwall by three goals to one. Pompey had been winless in their previous six matches in the Championship.
Pompey will head to South Yorkshire aware that they can restrict a still disjointed home team, and a low-scoring encounter is to be expected at Bramall Lane.
