Sheffield United vs Bristol City prediction

The first-leg of this Championship playoff semi-final saw favourites for the tie Sheffield United run out as 3-0 winners at Ashton Gate. Rob Dickie was sent off before the break with Harrison Burrows scoring the subsequent penalty before second-half strikes from Andre Brooks and Callum O’Hare.

Chris Wilder’s Sheffield United endured a miserable run of form after the March international break as they missed out on automatic promotion but they will be looking to put that right. Bristol City, on the other hand, enjoyed a magnificent second-half to the season before a shaky end that saw them only just squeeze into the top six and the playoff places by coming from 2-0 down to share a 2-2 draw with relegation-battling Preston North End on the final day.

Sheffield United will seek to simply see out the tie at Bramall Lane and City simply lack much of a goal scoring threat so a comfortable and controlled home win seems likely.
