Sevilla preview: Sorry Sevilla
Sevilla have been falling away for quite some time with financial constraints and some fairly bizarre decisions made off the pitch leaving them in a predicament on it, with Argentine coach Matias Almeyda now tasked with improving the fallen giant.
Sevilla began their season with back-to-back losses against Athletic Club at San Mames and then at home to Getafe. They did head into the international break on the back of beating Girona in a game between two of La Liga’s crisis clubs.
Elche preview: Entertaining Elche
Under the management of the always attacking and confident Eder Sarabia, Elche gained promotion to the top-flight last season with an excellent style of football that they have sought to continue playing in La Liga, and it has been a strong start.
Having begun with 1-1 draws against two of the stronger sides in the league, Real Betis and Atletico Madrid, Elche then won a Valencian derby against fellow newly-promoted Levante, beating them by two goals to nil a fortnight or so ago.
Sevilla team news: Plenty of doubts
Sevilla are dealing with plenty of injury doubts ahead of this weekend, with Tanguy Nianzou still set to be sidelined for the hosts alongside the likes of Adnan Januzaj and Akor Adams. They lost key man Dodi Lukebakio on transfer deadline day.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Vlachodimos; Jose Angel Carmona, Castrin, Kike Salas, Suazo; Agoume, Gudelj; Vargas, Gatito, Alfon; Isaac Romero
Unavailable: Joan Jordan (Injured)
Questionable: Nianzou (Injured), Ramon Martinez (Injured), Sow (Injured), Januzaj (Injured), Ejuke (Injured), Adams (Injured)
Elche team news: Fully fit
Elche did make some interesting signings before the window closed, such as Inaki Pena, but they have no fresh injury concerns or suspension issues and so have no real reason to make any changes.
Predicted XI (3-1-4-2): Matias Dituro; Victor Chust, Affengruber, Bigas; Marco Aguado; Alvaro Nunez, German Valera, Rodri Mendoza, Aleix Febas; Alvaro, Rafa Mir

Sevilla vs Elche prediction
Before the transfer deadline, Sevilla lost perhaps their only source of hope in the final third with Lukebakio moving to Benfica, and former Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has been brought in after an injury plagued couple of years back at Udinese. They now face an Elche side that are playing an innovative style with a verve and confidence of a newly-promoted side that believe they could even kick on this year, and siding with the visitors would seem a good value bet.
Sevilla vs Elche tip: Double chance – Elche to win or draw
