Sassuolo preview: Steady Sassuolo

Following their surprise promotion to the top-flight last season, Sassuolo have enjoyed an impressive campaign whereby they begin the weekend sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table.

The hosts were held to a goalless draw by an underperforming Fiorentina side in their most recent outing, meaning that they have suffered just one defeat in their last five matches in Serie A.

AC Milan preview: Dull Milan

They now face an AC Milan side that, under the management of Massimiliano Allegri, have been consistently tedious to watch as the Rossoneri battle to keep hold of their spot in the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.

The Milanese most recently shared a goalless draw with Juventus to continue their average run of form whereby they have now picked up just two victories in their last seven matches.

Sassuolo team news: A few issues

Sassuolo are dealing with a few injury issues for this one as defender Fali Cande remains sidelined alongside Edoardo Pieragnolo and Daniel Boloca, while Darryl Bakola is also a doubt.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Turati; Walukiewicz, Idzes, Muharemovic, Ulisses Garcia; Kone, Matic, Thorstvedt; Volpato, Pinamonti, Lauriente

Unavailable: Cande (Injured), Pieragnolo (Injured), Boloca (Injured)

Questionable: Bakola (Injured)

AC Milan team news: Modric out

No player has played more minutes for AC Milan this season than veteran midfielder Luka Modric but the Croatia captain is missing due to a facial injury this weekend.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Loftus-Cheek, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Leao, Pulisic

Unavailable: Modric (Injured)

Questionable:

Sassuolo vs AC Milan prediction

Milan have underwhelmed once again this season. The Rossoneri have struggled for fluidity in the final third, having scored just 48 goals in their Er games. Despite the fact they wouldn't be too much of a coup given their current status, Sassuolo would still be keen to at least avoid defeat and earn a memorable point here and so safety first may be their game plan with a low-scoring encounter a good bet at the Mapei Stadium.

Sassuolo vs AC Milan tip: Under 2.5 goals
