Having surprisingly qualified for Europe last season via the Turkish Super Lig, Samsunspor started the league phase with three successive victories before a frustrating but hard-fought 2-2 draw against Breidablik in Iceland.
They now face an AEK Athens side that began with a defeat in this competition before collecting seven points from their last three matches in the league phase. AEK most recently hammered city rivals Atromitos 4-1 at the weekend.
This has the potential to be quite an entertaining encounter between two sides enjoying strong starts to the campaign and both teams scoring seems a good bet in Turkey.
