THE PREDICTION

Clermont Auvergne made it five wins from their last six matches over all competitions with an impressive win away at Premiership side Wasps last Saturday, beating a good knock-out team 25-27. In doing so, Clermont will face the current Top 14 leaders Toulouse in a mouth-watering quarter-final clash in the Champions Cup and they won this fixture 33-30 at the start of the season back in September. Toulouse, though, have clearly pushed on since then and beat Pro14 runners-up Munster 33-40 on the road last Saturday in very impressive circumstances. Toulouse fought back from a half-time deficit in that match and they will need all of that gusto to just edge past Clermont this time around. A winning margin looks a tough one to call at this stage but Toulouse to eventually beat Clermont Auvergne here in a match that goes over 40 points looks a reasonable outcome this Sunday.
