THE PREDICTION
Castres continued their excellent Top 14 form to throw a huge spanner in the works at the top of the table by beating current leaders Toulouse 26-24 at home. Despite sitting in eighth place before this weekend’s fixtures, Castres are just 16 points from the top of the table now after eight wins from their 11 matches played in 2021 and Champions Cup qualification looks to be in their sights. They have, however, failed to win their last three away games in the division and this will be a tough test away at Bayonne. The hosts came off the worse in a 43-33 defeat at Pau last weekend but have won three of their last four home games and have beaten Toulon and Racing 92 in recent months in some fleeting strong performances. Bayonne will be the slight favourites at home but Castres’ form suggests they can just edge this one to extend their winning streak to four.
