THE PREDICTION
Clermont have lost back-to-back games in league and cup after crashing out of the Champions Cup quarter-finals at the hands of Toulouse and then losing 41-30 away at Lyon last Saturday in the Top 14. They remain within distance of the top two, La Rochelle and Toulouse above them, and can close the gap a little with this winnable game in-hand at home to Brive, who have not played since late March. The visiting side will be well-rested and up for causing an upset here but a whole month off from competitive rugby and little to play for but pride is unlikely to motivate a giant-killing here. The hosts should be able to cover -16 at home on Saturday for a bonus-point win that sees them claw back to title-contention.
