Scarlets can confirm themselves in third position of Conference B with a win at home here but they broke a two-match winning streak in the Pro14 with a 28-10 loss away to play-off finalists Munster last weekend. They host another of Munster’s recent victims, Connacht, who made it two defeats in a row in a gut-wrenchingly close 14-15 home loss to Edinburgh last Saturday. That surprise defeat seems symptomatic of their disappointment of not making the finals again and a trip to Scarlets is not the winnable fixture it would have been earlier this season. The two could finish with equal records after 16 games with a Scarlets victory here and in what should be an incredibly close match the feeling is the hosts have more desire at this moment in time. Scarlets to edge this one seems the likeliest outcome.
