THE PREDICTION
Connacht’s slim hopes at securing a play-off final place were dashed by the very team that beat them 20-17 last Friday evening with Munster going through to face Conference A’s runaway leaders Leinster later this month. The side from Galway will look to finish an established fourth overall now with two games left to play this season and only Scarlets capable of knocking them back a place. Edinburgh make the trip across the Irish sea off the back of a gut-wrenching 25-27 defeat at home by Scarlets last time out and they are unlikely to get anything from this match, though they have two games in-hand on many teams in the Pro14 and could still improve their position. Their last match with Benetton was postponed due to covid-19 cases in the Italians’ squad and so they will at least arrive well-rested for what could be a rather tight affair. Connacht, though, should be able to cover -7 in victory here at home.
