Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma have been very good, albeit not fluent in attack, following his appointment over the summer, but their surprise early season title charge was dealt a blow by a surprise 1-0 loss to Cagliari last weekend. The Giallorossi did manage to ease to a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Celtic at Celtic Park in midweek.
Como, coached by Cesc Fabregas, begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top six and the European spots with a very front foot and progressive style of football. However, they were left shellshocked last weekend as they suffered a 4-0 hammering at the hands of Internazionale at San Sro.
The Romans have been some way off playing the typical Gasperini way but they should soon burst into life and Como may well be the ideal opposition to help that entertainment fester.
