Roberto Bautista Agut vs Brandon Nakashima prediction
Roberto Bautista Agut is set to compete in his final French Open, as he announced earlier this year that he would be retiring at the end of the season. His best result here was a round-of-16 appearance in 2016 and 2017. He has lost seven of his 11 matches on clay in 2026, and he is yet to progress beyond the second-round of an event so far in this campaign.
His first-round opponent is Brandon Nakashima. The American has not been particularly threatening during this clay court swing, failing to win back-to-back matches on the tour since his run to the semi-finals of the Mexican Open back in February. Other than that event, along with his appearance in the final of the Brisbane International at the start of the year, it’s been a largely underwhelming season for Nakashima up to this point.
He is still the clear favourite for this one, and he beat Bautista Agut comfortably last month in Rome. Nevertheless, the Spaniard won their other two previous meetings, and he could still trouble him at times with his consistent game.
