Rinky Hijikata vs Tommy Paul prediction
Rinky Hijikata last competed in Hamburg, qualifying for the event but then losing in the first-round to Daniel Altmaier in straight sets. His best result during the clay court swing was a quarter-final appearance on the Challenger Tour in Aix-en-Provence, but the Australian was unable to make it out of qualifying in Madrid or Rome.
Tommy Paul is his first-round opponent. Paul was seeking his second title on clay this season in Hamburg as he reached the final. However, despite winning the second set, he lost to Ignacio Buse in three. Paul performed strongly here last year, advancing to his first quarter-final in Paris, but he was then swept aside by eventual champion Carlos Alcaraz. The American began his clay court season by winning the US Men’s Clay Court Championships in Houston.
Paul is performing well and is likely to have far too much for Hijikata in this first-round match.
Rinky Hijikata vs Tommy Paul tip: Under 30.5 games
