The prediction
Richmond (16th) is coming off a demoralising 84-point loss to the Gold Coast Suns. In a historically poor performance, the Tigers were held goalless for the entire first half and ultimately kicked their lowest-ever score against the Suns, 2.11 (23).
St Kilda (14th) secured their second consecutive victory with a thrilling nine-point win over a fast-finishing North Melbourne. After their record-breaking comeback win against Melbourne in Round 20, the Saints showed great composure to hold off the Kangaroos' late charge.
Richmond midfielder Jacob Hopper was a shining light in the heavy loss to the Suns. He fought hard against a dominant opposition midfield, recording a team-high nine contested possessions and finishing with 25 disposals.
St Kilda's breakout star, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera, was once again the best player on the ground in the win over North Melbourne. The young gun produced another stunning display, leading the Saints to victory with 36 disposals, nine clearances, and nine score involvements.
St Kilda has established a clear recent advantage over Richmond, having won the last four H2H encounters between the two sides. This includes a dominant 82-point victory when they met earlier this season in Round Three.
The two teams are on completely different trajectories. St Kilda is playing with a newfound confidence and freedom, while Richmond appears to be limping towards the finish line. The Saints' superior momentum and form should prove too much for a Tigers outfit low on morale
