The prediction

Richmond finally got off the mark last weekend with a hard-fought 11-point victory over fellow strugglers West Coast at Optus Stadium.

Head coach Adem Yze will hope that victory can be something to build on but the reality is that the Tigers are simply lacking in overall quality and they are getting overrun by their opponents on a consistent basis.

Adelaide are certainly nowhere near the level they showed last year when they topped the regular season ladder, but they have managed to grind out a couple of tight wins lately, not least their one-point victory against local rivals Port Adelaide last week.

Brayden Cook was their hero in the dramatic Showdown contest, with the boyhood Crows fan kicking the decisive goal late in the game.

The Crows still have plenty of work to do if they are to be considered Premier contenders this season, but Richmond are unlikely to lay a glove on them at the MCG.
