Real Sociedad vs Espanyol prediction
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s Real Sociedad started their season with 1-0 loss to Real Betis at La Cartuja in Seville before they then succumbed to a 5-1 demolition at the hands of Real Madrid at the Bernabeu. La Real will be concerned that their poor end to last season after winning the Copa del Rey has now bled into this season.
Espanyol collapsed in the second half of last season but the Catalans have stuck by Manolo Gonzalez. Under pressure, he oversaw an impressive 3-0 defeat of Levante in their opening game of the season before another strong performance as they were beaten 2-1 by Real Madrid at the RCDE Stadium.
Espanyol will fancy themselves to get off to another flyer like last year and they may well be a good value bet here given the malaise of the hosts.
