Real Betis vs Vitoria Guimaraes Prediction
Real Betis come into this one believing they can finish the season extremely well after an impressive winter transfer window and a strong run of form with Vitoria Guimares looking to do something that smaller Portuguese clubs don’t do and that is go far in European competition.
Betis come into this one on the back of a come-from-behind 2-1 defeat of Real Madrid at the Benito Villamarin at the weekend. That means Manuel Pellegrini’s Andalusians, with an entertaining new attack of Jesus Rodriguez, Isco, Antony and Chucho Hernandez, have won four of their last five matches across all competitions.
Portugal’s UEFA coefficient is often solely reliant on ‘Os Tres Grandes’ and the occasional Braga run but Vitoria are looking to help out, reaching the knockouts of UEFA competition for the first time ever since the introduction of a group or league phase. They most recently edged past Casa Pia by a goal to nil at the weekend.
Betis, with home advantage, will be favourites but Vitoria have shown themselves to be difficult to play and score against so it may not be an overly entertaining encounter for the neutral.
