Rapid Vienna vs Shamrock Rovers Prediction

It's been a perfect to the league phase of the Conference League so far for Rapid Vienna, who sit on nine points from nine after victories against Istanbul Basaksehir, Noah and Petrocub, and they are one of six clubs with a perfect record in the competition heading into Matchday 4.

Robert Klauss' side have lost just once in 14 league games this season and are currently second in the Austrian Bundesliga behind Champions League participant Sturm Graz, as they look to improve upon their fourth-placed finish last season.

Also unbeaten in the league phase, Shamrock Rovers followed their opening draw with APOEL with defeats of nearby opponents Larne (Northern Ireland) and The New Saints (Wales). This came after they took the long route into the Conference League after bowing out in qualifying for both the Champions League and Europa League.

The Irish outfit recently concluded their domestic league campaign in second place, two points behind champions Shelbourne, which ended their four-year grip on the Premier Division title.

One of Shamrock Rovers' biggest challenges now will be keeping their players sharp enough given that their domestic commitments are over for the time being. It should also be noted that they have had a fairly kind fixture run in the Conference League to date, and we think they'll suffer their first league phase defeat on Thursday at the hands of the impressive hosts.
