Quentin Halys is plotting a rapid return to the top 100 in Miami.
The Frenchman claimed a hugely impressive 7-6 6-4 win over Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and will now face Kamil Majchrzak for a second time on tour.
The Pole won their maiden tussle in straight sets in Pune in 2022 but they also met in qualifying in Brisbane this year with Halys triumphing 1-6 7-6 6-4.
Majchrzak has posted some excellent results in Miami, following a three-set win over Miomir Kecmanovic by surprising rising star, Learner Tien 6-2 4-6 6-2.
This could go either way and may be worth taking in a set first to see who is dominating most of the key moments. If not, it’s a good shout to go three.
