Qinwen Zheng vs Elena Rybakina prediction
Qinwen Zheng recovered from a tough start to beat Sofia Kenin in three sets. The 2024 Olympic champion lost six games in a row at one point as she dropped the first set but quickly recovered in the second to draw level. Despite going an early break down in the third set, Zheng would go on to win 1-6 6-3 6-3.
She now takes on world number two Elena Rybakina in the next stage of the tournament. Rybakina was pushed to the limit by Elena-Gabriela Ruse but came through in three sets. She dropped the first set and was pegged back in the second despite going a double break up. The two-time Grand Slam champion would level the match but did go 3-1 down in the third. She found her groove to come back and win 4-6 6-3 7-5.
Rybakina leads the head-to-head 3-1, but this is their first match on clay. They last played against each other in Doha earlier this year, with Rybakina having to come from a set down to squeeze through. Zheng could certainly cause problems for the Kazakhstani once more.
Qinwen Zheng vs Elena Rybakina tip: Over 20.5 games
