Ann Li will have designs on a career first when she faces underdog Priscilla Hon.

The American world number 58 will be a clear favourite to reach the round of 16 at a major for the first time against the Aussie, who sits outside the top 100 in 126th spot. 

Li surprised 16th seed Belinda Bencic with an impressive 6-3 6-3 success last time out while Hon battled back from a set down to edge 17th seed Liudmila Samsonova 4-6 6-3 6-3. 

Qualifier Hon’s form is somewhat surprising given she hadn’t won a tour-level match prior to this tournament and with no previous head-to-head to go by, this is tricky to call.

Li will be the favourite but given the Aussie has already produced a real shock here, you can’t completely rule her out and the odds may favour a punt on her taking it three.
