Portsmouth vs Watford prediction

John Mousinho’s Pompey come into this one on the back of a vital and comprehensive 5-3 defeat of mid-table Norwich City at Carrow Road on Good Friday. The southerners went ahead via Colby Bishop before being pegged back by Josh Sargent before then going 4-1 up early in the second-half. Norwich fought back but it was to be a big Portsmouth win in Norfolk.

Under the management of former midfielder Tom Cleverley, Watford head into the final three matches of the 2024/25 Championship campaign sitting firmly in the middle-of-the-table as they coast towards the end of the season with the Hornets suffering three defeats in their last four matches, losing 2-1 at home to promotion chasing Burnley on Good Friday.

In that game, Watford went down to nine men and now miss both Moussa Sissoko and Edo Kayembe so, at Fratton Park, Pompey will be confident of all but ensuring survival on Monday.
