The Spaniard’s struggles with fitness are well documented but she chalked up two excellent wins in her first outings on clay last week to suggest she could be in for a solid run on her favoured surface.

However, Lilli Tagger will be playing just her tenth tour-level match and she is 2-2 for this year.

The 18-year-old home hope has an excellent record on the surface at ITF level, but given Badosa’s pedigree, this should be one-sided if the former world number two is physically right.
