How to watch online: UK – discovery+ / US – Paramount+

Paris Saint-Germain preview: Slow start

Luis Enrique’s 2024/25 treble winners began the season without a pre-season and so their performances were fairly underwhelming. The Parisians are trying to find some fitness and form, albeit they are still getting a decent level of results.

Late winners managed to ensure PSG remained top in Ligue 1 ahead of the break, and they now come into this one on the back of an impressive 3-0 demolition of Le Havre at the Parc des Princes at the weekend.

Tottenham preview: Pressure on Frank

There is a bit of pressure now on Tottenham Hotspur boss Thomas Frank after they suffered a 4-1 hammering at the hands of arch-rivals and Premier League league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the North London Derby at the weekend.

Frank reminded Tottenham supporters that they finished 17th last season and so time was required in order to see consistent improvement. However, the extremely negative way in which they set up in that game was almost unforgivable for many.

Paris Saint-Germain team news: Hakimi out

Achraf Hakimi suffered a tough injury against Bayern a couple of weeks ago and he is now sidelined alongside France international Desire Doue, although Ousmane Dembele stands a chance of making it.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Kvaratskhelia, Ramos, Barcola

Unavailable: Hakimi (Injured), Doue (Injured)

Questionable: Dembele (Injured)

Tottenham team news: Johnson suspended

Wales international winger Brennan Johnson is missing through suspension for this one, with Ben Davies, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke all out as well.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Vicario; Romero, Van de Ven, Danso; Spence, Palhinha, Bentancur, Udogie; Kudus, Simons; Richarlison

Unavailable: Davies (Fitness), Maddison (Injured), Johnson (Suspended), Solanke (Injured)

Questionable:

Paris Saint-Germain vs Tottenham prediction

PSG have been dealing with fitness issues as well as a few injury concerns throughout the season and they still have some key absentees for this one. However, Luis Enrique’s side appear to have come through their toughest patch as they now face a Spurs side that will again try and sit deep to play on the counter-attack, but the visitors, unless a quick transformation, will struggle to find any patterns of play in order to attack and so a PSG victory is to be expected in the French capital city.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Tottenham Tip: Paris Saint-Germain to win
