  • In 2019, Flamengo lost in the final of the previous version of this competition, 1-0 to Liverpool – their coach Filipe Luís was a player for the club at the time and featured in the fixture. • Paris Saint-Germain are striving to become the first French club to capture a FIFA tournament title, having reached their second FIFA club competition final in 2025 after contesting the FIFA Club World Cup decider in the summer. Flamengo, meanwhile, are aiming to end South America’s long wait by becoming the first team from the continent to win a FIFA club showpiece since 2012, when Brazilian side Corinthians edged Chelsea 1-0 in the final of the previous version of this competition.
  • Paris Saint-Germain secured their place in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup 2025™ by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time, defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in the final of the 2024/25 edition on 31 May 2025. In doing so, they became only the second French club to lift the trophy, following Marseille’s triumph in 1992/93.
  • Paris Saint-Germain are France’s most successful club with 13 league titles, their latest success this in 2024/25 – when they finished 19 points ahead of second-placed Marseille – was their 11th title in the last 13 seasons.
  • Paris Saint-Germain have won five of their previous seven FIFA competition matches (D1 L1) – all at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™.
  • Paris Saint-Germain have lost only two of their last 16 matches in all competitions (W10 D4).

Paris Saint-Germain vs Flamengo prediction

Luis Enrique’s Paris Saint-Germain, without a pre-season, have still won the UEFA Super Cup this season while performing well in the UEFA Champions League and keeping up with Lens at the top-of-the-table in the Ligue 1 title race, having seen off struggling Metz by three goals to two at Stade Saint-Symphorien at the weekend.

Flamengo, coached by Filipe Luis, managed to ease past Pyramids FC by two goals to nil in the playoffs the other day, courtesy of goals from Leo Pereira and Danilo. The Brazilians, who reached the quarter-finals of the summer’s FIFA Club World Cup, defeated Palmeiras by a goal to nil in the CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores final in late-November.

Flamengo have been extremely impressive since the appointment of Filipe Luis, but PSG are expected to come out on top in this one, as they put right their 3-0 hammering at the hands of Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final in New York over the summer.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Flamengo tip: Paris Saint-Germain to win & under 3.5 goals
