Paris Saint-Germain preview: Defending champions

Defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain head into this one on the back of a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Angers as they try and hold off a Lens side at the top-of-the-table in the Ligue 1 title race.

Luis Enrique and his PSG side were impressive in the quarter-finals as they comfortably defeated English champions Liverpool by four goals to nil on aggregate with 2-0 victories in Paris and then on Merseyside.

Bayern Munich preview: Brilliant Bayern

Bayern Munich are brilliant. They play a front foot, aggressive pressing style of football that is as relentless as it is ruthless and the record-breaking Bavarians are pushing themselves towards the treble with each game that goes past.

Vincent Kompany's German champions came from 3-0 down to entertainingly defeat Mainz by four goals to three with Harry Kane completing a dramatic comeback, having come on at 3-0 down at half-time alongside Michael Olise.

Paris Saint-Germain team news: Vitinha coming back

Vitinha has been brilliant since becoming a Paris Saint-Germain player but the Portugal international midfielder has been missing for the last couple of games due to a heel injury - but he did train on Monday and may well recover in time to start.

PSG have rotated in Ligue 1 of late but they will return to a full strength lineup with their thrilling front three of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Neves, Vitinha; Doue, Dembele, Kvaratskhelia

Unavailable: Ndjantou (Injured)

Questionable: Vitinha (Injured)

Bayern Munich team news: Still no Gnabry

Bayern Munich have been rotating in the Bundesliga but they will return to a fully fit side for their crucial clash in the French capital city on Tuesday night.

Bayern are dealing with a few injuries for this, though, as Germany international winger Serge Gnabry remains sidelined alongside youngster Lennart Karl.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Neuer; Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Davies; Kimmich, Pavlovic; Olise, Musiala, Diaz; Kane

Unavailable: Ulreich (Injured), Guerreiro (Injured), Ofli (Injured), Bischof (Injured), Karl (Injured), Gnabry (Injured), Mike (Injured)

Questionable:

Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich prediction

Bayern Munich are extremely entertaining and play some of the most dynamic football that has been seen in Europe for some time - albeit perhaps matches by PSG in the spring last year. The Parisians remain a way off their absolute peak of last season but they have been finding it as the season has gone on and this just appears to be set to be a thriller with both teams scoring seemingly almost an inevitability at the Parc des Princes in this first-leg on Tuesday night.
