Panna Udvardy was on course for her second tour-level final of the season in Rabat; however she fell at the semi-final stage after a comprehensive defeat to Anhelina Kalinina. The Hungarian made a poor start and ended up losing 6-0 6-3. She also qualified for the Italian Open earlier this month and won her first-round match. Udvardy is now up to her highest ranking of 68 in the world.
She faces Viktorija Golubic in the first-round. The Swiss was able to win two matches in Parma two weeks ago, before a loss to two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova in the quarter-finals. She has advanced to one final on the ITF circuit this season, while she also progressed to the third-round in Rome.
Both players have been competitive in their most recent events, but Udvardy seems to be on an upwards trajectory, and she will be incredibly motivated to win her first main draw match at Roland Garros on the fourth attempt.
