Palmeiras vs Sporting Cristal prediction

Under the management of Abel Ferreira, Palmeiras have been magnificent in the group stages of this season’s Libertadores. The hosts have managed five victories from five with 11 goals scored and just four conceded, albeit they come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss at home to Flamengo in the Brazilian Serie A at the weekend.

They now face a Sporting Cristal side that require a four-goal goal difference swing as well as a victory and Cerro Porteno to lose to Bolivar in La Paz in order to squeeze themselves into the top two. They could even slip to rock-bottom in Group G if Bolivar defeat Cerro Porteno and they lose to Palmeiras in Brazil.

Palmeiras have little to play for and may well rotate for this one at Allianz Parque but, even with that possibility, they remain firm favourites to keep their 100% record in the competition intact.

Palmeiras vs Sporting Cristal tip: Palmeiras to win
