While Pakistan fell to their first defeat of this tri-nation series this past Tuesday at the hands of Sri Lanka, the hosts knew that their place in the final was already secure, allowing them to effectively coast through the game. We saw that, as their batters wilted under the pressure of a locked in Sri Lankan bowling attack, who dismissed them for just 110 before chasing their victory target down with eight wickets to spare.
It would be a big shock if we weren’t to see an entirely different Pakistan performance this time around in a final. Their players have had time to rest up, take stock and prepare for this match, while Sri Lanka had to play on Thursday and were outclassed by England.
